8×10 vs A4: what's the difference?

Updated 3 November 2026

Short answer: A4 (8.3 × 11.7 in) is taller and narrower than 8 × 10. They are different ratios (1:1.41 vs 4:5), so a file made for one will be cropped or bordered in the other.
